Common questions

All questions

How is the photo book made?

It's a real hardcover book, 8.3 × 11.7 in: your cover is printed and wrapped around thick board, and the inside pages are heavier than the magazine's. It comes in 32 to 60 pages, in steps of 4. It stands up on a shelf and lasts for years.

Why does the photo book cost more than the magazine?

Because it's a different object. The hard cover is made separately, on board, then the pages are bound into it: more material, more steps. At 32 pages, the magazine is the lightest gift, the book the most lasting keepsake.

Magazine or photo book: which one should I pick?

Both are the same size and use the same templates. The magazine has a soft cover and thin pages you flip through, pass around and leave on the coffee table: it's the liveliest, and the most affordable. The photo book has a hard cover and thicker pages: it's the one you shelve and pull out again in twenty years.

How many photos do I need?

About 35 to 45 photos for 24 pages, 45 to 60 for 32 pages, 70 to 90 for 48 pages and 85 to 110 for 60 pages, for the magazine and the book alike. A few sharp photos beat lots of blurry ones, since they print big. Got more than you planned? Add pages in the editor, 4 at a time, and only pay the difference.

Can I add pages after I pay?

Yes. In the editor you add pages 4 at a time without leaving your project, up to 60, and only pay the price difference between the two page counts.

Can I order more than one copy?

Yes. For a magazine, say one more copy for your parents, $10, when you buy or in one click right before it prints. Each one after that costs a little less, and they all ship in the same box. For the photo book, every extra copy is $20, whatever the page count.

How long until it arrives?

Once you send it to print, allow 6 to 12 business days for a magazine and 7 to 13 business days for a photo book, printing and tracked shipping included. How long you take to make it is up to you. Have a date in mind? Send it at least two weeks ahead.
